Love Letters to The Lord

As I look over the “news” and see the total chaos that humanity is in, I can’t help but praise You for being the one constant measure of what righteousness is.

I have heard people use the word “humane” to define what is the right way to behave, but that word is never consistently applied and its meaning changes as often as the waves in the ocean.

Rather than be caught up in humanity’s sense of what “good” is, I choose to go by what You say on the subject.

There is not one human that is good, but You are a great God.
There is none righteous, but You Lord.
Your ways are holy, and Your love is both merciful and just.
You are my guide, and Your Word is the final measure of what “good” is.

Rather than follow the humane ways of humanists, I choose to add Your name into the equation.
I align myself to Your Words, and cause my flesh to submit to them.
Pour the Blood of Christ over my life and make me righteous, Lord.
Without You Lord, I am lost. Through You Lord, I am saved.

I praise You in the morning and in the evening, as I lay my head to rest.

You God, are my God! You are my hope, peace, light, deliverance, joy and comfort… You God, are my everything.

Help me to live a life that points others to You, Jesus.
Without Your life, death, burial and resurrection we have no hope for the future.
You are the answer to our questions, the light to our darkness, the healing to our pain…
Your are the reason for our joy, the direction to our path, the peace to our time, and the faith to our hope.

Keep us, protect us, guide us, deliver us, heal us, restore us, rebuild us, reprogram us, reboot us, and never stop loving us.

We humans sure do need You, Lord Jesus
I am ready to go home, Lord, but until then You are free to use me.
Your humble servant,
Gene Jordan
