We Will Serve The Lord

Lately, I have been having to let go. Some were not by choice, and were very painful as they were taken from me. Others were things that didn’t really matter, and were a mixture of easy and tough to cast away.

I have cast away the unnecessary, hoping to regain those that are most important.

Joshua 24:14-15 tells me,  “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I try to be a man of principal, and I like my life that way.

It seems that we live in a world of lost respect for the truth, and it is sad when you have to watch your loved ones hurting and paying for the bad choices they have made. This is especially true when they try to get you to be their codependent, and you are forced to say, “no” only to watch them choose to walk away.

I have began to question a lot of the things that our world does. The questions are not really deep ones, but I think that they are still important. Questions like…

Why do we need money to survive? Who says that my house must look a certain way? Why do I have to eat certain foods to be satisfied? Why do we seek help from the people that we do? Why do I have to conform to fit into society? How can I escape society? Why can’t we just be content with what we have?

I guess what it boils down to is the questions, “Why can’t we fully trust God’s help?”, and “Why do we feel that flawed mankind can do more for us than He can?”

So I have been scaling back my life. I used to work on computers for a living, and I remember that they were supposed to give us a 4-Day work week. That was a lie…

I have been asking God to show me the things that I have my faith in, that are only hurting me. We as people work so hard to gain comfort, only to have it complicate our lives and cause us to work harder to maintain it. It is a sad state to be in…

I remember reading an article with Donald Trump, and he recalled a time when he was asked about a homeless man. His view was that he had so much debt, that he felt that the homeless man was wealthier than he was.

I wonder about that at times.

Why is it so relaxing to go camping? Why can’t I just live in a tent? Is it because a tent is temporary? Isn’t life on this earth really just temporary? Is anything on this earth, truly “forever”?

I mean, if i pay $600 a month on a house, and a tent costs $150, I could afford a new tent every month, and have an extra $450 a month to live on…

So I have been scaling back my life. Simplifying my life of the overly complicated things designed to make my life “easier”

I have realized that I must be happy with what I have, because you could loose it all tomorrow. I must daily give thanks to the Lord because it is He who is my provider. I must refuse to allow the negative to have a seat in my house (I don’t care what it promises me, it isn’t worth it.)

So I made a sign, and posted it on my back door…

It reminds me that I must not allow the negative to enter the house. We will stay focused to pursue the will of God in our everyday walk with Him. We are casting out the ideas of this world, and bringing in the ways of our Heavenly Father. We will live by the mantra, “My door is always open for those whose intentions are sincere and honorable according to God’s Word.”

Thank You Father for Your Blessings Upon Us

Thank You Jesus for Being The Best Way For Us To Live

Thank You Holy Spirit for Your Boldness To Do So

Lord, if You don’t have it for me in Your Word, then I don’t want it.
