Drowning Danger

“Why is it when a christian takes a stand, they are told that they are judging?”

John 8:41-45
(Carnal Believers)
You are doing the things your own father does.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”

(The Children of the Devil)
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

It’s seems that “don’t judge me” is a popular term, that at it’s core means “leave me alone, and let me do what ever I want”.

It is spoken by carnal christians, as well as unbelievers alike, making the two indistinguishable from each other.

I can’t imagine a life guard swimming out to a drowning victim, and being told by the very one who is drowning, “don’t judge me… I can swim.”

It seems that we live in a world of people who can’t admit that there are some things that are better left alone, because the risk is not worth the pleasure.

When someone says, “stay away from alcohol,” it is because they don’t want to see you suffer from the effects of it’s abuse.

When they say, “don’t cheat on your spouse,” it is because they care enough about your whole family that they don’t want to see it destroyed.

When they say, “don’t watch that on tv,” it is because they care about your state of mind when you put garbage in.

When they say, “gay is not ok,” it is because they know that the gay lifestyle is the most self destructive lifestyle you can have.

As human beings, we cannot “handle it.” When it comes to morality, we cannot swim, but we are all drowning. God’s Word is the highest measure of morality, because it is inspired by the one who is perfect… God Himself.

Jesus came in as our lifeguard, and it is total foolishness to refuse His hand and continue to drown while screaming “there has to be more than one way.”

And it is completely asinine to be one who has been saved by Christ, and go running back to the very thing that had us in bondage while yelling, “grace allows me to do this… don’t judge me.”
