Gotta Pray

Lately I have been praying scriptures, and have been seeing great results. God’s Word needs to be spoken, and when you pray it, you cause God’s desires to be your desires as well.

When I was at Rhema, I was told by my instructor to read 2 verses from the Book of Ephesians twice a day. When I got the assignment, I immediately realized that the Holy Spirit was telling me to pray them.

I took the scriptures and wrote the out as prayers. This was the first, but not the last time that I did this. Here are my prayers.

Two Prayers

Ephesians 1:16-23 adapted as a prayer.

I have not stopped giving thanks to you, remembering to pray to you always. I keep asking that you, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know you better. I pray also that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened in order that I may know the hope to which you have called me, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints, and your incomparably great power for me who believes. That power is like the working of your mighty strength, which you exerted in Christ when you raised him from the dead and seated him at your right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And you, God, placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Ephesians 3:14-21 adapted as a prayer.

For this reason I kneel before you, Father, for through you, your whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of your glorious riches you may strengthen me with power through your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I may be rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of you, Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of you, God.

And that I, who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within me, to you be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
