starting the cabin
Imagine yourself swelling up to 335 pounds in less than 2 weeks time…
Imagine when you prayed, The Lord telling you to not go to a doctor, but “allow Him to walk you through this attack…”

Imagine not being able to walk more than 20 feet at a time without help…
Imagine not being able to sleep in a bed anymore, but upright in a chair…
Imagine as the fluid leaked out, the skin peeling off your legs below your knees…
Imagine the pain of open wounds (without pain meds)…
Imagine not being able to drive at all…
Imagine not sleeping more than an hour a day for over 3 months…
Imagine hallucinating from the lack of sleep…
Imagine loosing all muscle mass (and I mean all to the point you could feel the bone through where your bicep used to be)…
Imagine not having the strength to lift a spoon to your mouth…
Imagine not being able to wear pants, because of the still leaking open wounds on your legs…
Imagine then having to make it through 3 feet of snow to the car…
Imagine having someone imply that you are a burden to your wife, and they are concerned about her…
Imagine learning to forgive…

Imagine praying to die, and The Lord saying to be patient…
Imagine a year of all of the above… No meds, no doctor, just you and your faith in God’s Word…
Imagine rather than asking for people’s help, you know you have to draw back and seek The Lord…

Imagine when people see you, they think you are stupid for not going to a doctor…
Imagine having to forgive again and again…

Imagine wondering if God’s is still there…

Imagine going through this for 9 months, and you see a light of God moving…

Imagine loosing over 15 gallons of fluid in 3 months time (96+ pounds worth)…
Imagine still no muscle mass to walk… but you push through…
Imagine after not driving for 9 months, you finally can again…
Imagine packing a moving van, not being able to make it up the ramp…
Imagine watching your wife do all the work, helpless feeling, but still grateful that she is still with you through all this…

Imagine getting a vision of buying land and building a cabin…
Imagine trying to walk the land, tall grass, open wounds…

Imagine getting the money to buy the land and start the cabin…
Imagine still barely able to walk, but you start on a cabin…

Imagine the strength daily coming back as you built one board at a time…
Imagine doing a half day of work, and 3 days of rest to recover…
Imagine doing 3 days of work, and only needing 3 days to recover…

Imagine having to explain to your wife how to do something that you wish you could do yourself…
Imagine having to trust her it an area where she doesn’t even trust herself…

Imagine fighting frustration, depression, and personal failure, but remembering how far The Lord has already brought you…
Imagine being able to climb a 6 foot ladder as you and your wife witness angels help lift 3 4x10x30ft beams onto 8 foot tall posts…

Imagine watching your wife take the materials you cut, and single handedly frame up and finish the roof to your cabin (as per your instructions)…
Imagine any wife, still being with you through all that…
Imagine pushing through daily, still leaking, open wounds, no meds, still not sleeping in a bed, can’t wear shoes…

Imagine still trusting that God is faithful, that He is walking with you, and that you will do this…
Imagine the personal ups and downs, but your rock is The Lord…

Imagine posting pics of the cabin, and people saying that they wish they could do the same…
Imagine knowing that you could never do this on your own, and that God has given you strength daily to complete a seemingly impossible task…
Imagine being at peace through the 30+ months, still leaking, no meds, no doctor, but sitting in your cabin typing this…

You see, all of the above is my testimony…

I wish I could explain to you the importance of trusting God 100%…
I wish I could tell you how placing my faith in the Great Physician has given me peace through the storm…
I wish I could encourage you to see that you can do what God has called you to do, if you would just trust in Him and Him alone…
I wish I could tell you how great God is…

What Satan meant for my death, God used to built out the vision He had for me.
The Lord proved that I can do all those things He has called me to do, through Christ Jesus who gave me strength.
Faith truly is “calling those things that are not, as though they are”

I wish I could get you to understand…

Father God, thank You for the vision You have given me, and for Mary as my help mate…
Jesus, thank You for paying for my healing, I am healed in Your name…
Sweet Holy Spirit, thank You for walking with me, never leaving my side, and for helping me do the impossible…

God is a good God… All the time!!!
