Jesus Shepherd
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

As I was praying this morning, I felt impress by the statement “valley of the shadow of death”…

What is your valley of the shadow of death?
If death is the absence of life, and Jesus came to give us life, who does death come from?

If perfection comes from God (who is perfect), than anything less than perfection must be from somewhere else.

If Jesus gives Life, where does death come from?
If Jesus gives Health, where does sickness come from?
If Jesus gives Abundance, where does lack come from?
If Jesus gives Grace, where does works come from?
If Jesus gives Freedom, where does slavery come from?
If Jesus gives Love, where does hatred come from?
If Jesus gives Salvation, where does bondage come from?
If Jesus gives Righteousness, where does sin come from?

Remember that every promise in God’s Word is Good, and every lie comes from the evil one.

So I will ask you again, “What is your valley of the shadow of death?”

In what area of your life do you need a Psalms 23?
