Boycotts and Protests

Sitting here thinking about boycotting… It kind of frustrates me when people try to act as if it is a negative thing to do. As if it is unloving, intolerant, and even un-christian.
I looked up the word:
verb [ with obj. ]
withdraw from commercial or social relations with (a country, organization, or person) as a punishment or protest.
• refuse to buy or handle (goods) as a punishment or protest.
• refuse to cooperate with or participate in (a policy or event).
a punitive ban that forbids relations with certain groups, cooperation with a policy, or the handling of goods.
As I think about it, people boycott all the time. Get invited to go clubbing, and we refuse because it is not at places that we want to go. Stop watching a tv show? Because we find that we don’t like the content of the show. Change churches? It is because we disagree with the teaching, or are not “getting fed” enough.
And the word protest. In its simplest form it means, “express an objection to what someone has said or done”
Why is it looked upon as something evil to do when we protest a policy that we deem unsafe? Why do we have to tolerate things that are potentially harmful to us or our family, so that we will seem to be loving? Is allowing a man to rape you or yours an act of love?
So as I was pondering this, I felt the Holy Spirit prod me to get ready. So many definitions are being changed, as well as history or events. Satan has an agenda, and to protest and boycott his agendas is no more against people than when Jesus said while looking at Peter, “get thee behind me Satan…”
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
So to tell a person or business that we will have no part of their policies or actions, is not un-christian.
But get ready, mark my words, there will come a time when you will refuse to partake of a worldly activity, and the response will be, “what? are you boycotting me? you are so mean… I thought you were a christian.”
Satan will use this word as a snare to make you stumble, so keep guard what you stand for now, because it will not become any easier.
