Prejudice Is…

Prejudice is a word that is thrown around a lot these days, and since people like to change the definitions of words to incite cultural discord and legal misrepresentations, I figured that I would post the correct definitions here.

1. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.
2. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable.
3. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group.
4. such attitudes considered collectively:
The war against prejudice is never-ending.
5. damage or injury; detriment:
a law that operated to the prejudice of the majority.

Prejudice by defination is all inclusive, and cannot be used categorically to fit your personal bias.

A person who tries to focus on one specific type of prejudice is in fact prejudice themselves. This is backed up by scripture over and over again.

1 John 4:20 – If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

If you don’t think that all of mankind is each other’s “brother”, you need to revisit Genesis 11:1-9 and see how God created different languages (races and ethnic groups.) Mankind was trying to make itself to be God and that was a sin, so The Lord separated us in this way, but we are all still brothers come from Adam and Eve (belief in eveloution will rob you of understanding of this concept).

Matthew 25:40 – And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Jesus repeats Himself…

Matthew 25:45 – Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

Those that you consider “the least” in mankind, are the same that Jesus died for. Jesus died to save us from our sins and deliver us from them. When Jesus rose again, it was to conquer our slavery to sin and set us free from sin’s hold over us.

So in Jesus’ (God’s) mind, “the least” includes those in sin as well as those of different race.

You cannot try to separate your prejudice from the other’s, and say that one is prejudice of race, while you have unreasonable prejudices of another kind. You cannot point out one sin, and ignore another. You cannot love one group, and hate another because you think they hate you.

To hate a man for “being prejudice” is by definition to be prejudice as well, and will not fly with God.

John 15:17-19 – These things I command you, that you love one another. “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

Jesus recognized that worldly people love each other, because they are the same people, and different from Him. Jesus came to remove evil from the world, and the world hates Him for it.

When you take a stand against evil, the world will be prejudice against you because they hate God’s Word and what it stands for and against. In God’s eyes, standing for the truth is not hateful to the world, but is love (John 3:16.) God’s Word is not unreasonable, but those that hate it are the true prejudice ones.

It can never be prejudice to love someone enough to try to save them when they are dying, but to a truly prejudice person they will be indifferent or resistant to Jesus and His (God’s) Word.

So when people are wasting time trying to knit pick differences of prejudice that fit their agenda or make them feel like a better person, remember that it isn’t flying with God. The world’s ways are evil, and Jesus will judge it all accordingly.

That is why I refuse to sway to the ever-changing doctrines of social media’s political correctness. I refuse to be a mindless drone that has no core values, and shallow depth of self serving love. I refuse to invest myself in a spineless set of values that will contradict itself tomorrow because the newspaper says to do so, and it is even more silly to bombard myself with opposing views thinking that I will be able to sort out the truth from them. Finally, I refuse to tolerate sins that are trying to destroy myself and those I love.

I choose to stand firm in the Word of God, build my relationship with Him, and know who my true provider is. If you choose to hate me for that by saying that I am hateful, just remember that it is because you really hate God, and you need to address that issue in your own life.

God’s Word is final, and while it makes me biased to a single way of thinking, it does not make me hateful or prejudice. It makes me balanced, steady and approved by the Almighty Himself.

In the long run, that is all that matters.
